Lee writes new melodies, plays the violin, and sings for her own enjoyment. Lee serves on the faculty of The College of Staten Island – The City University of New York and of the Queens Summer Vocal Institute at Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, where she teaches piano classes and coaches voice students. Last spring, over 6,500 sophomores and juniors from across the state of New York prepared for All-State evaluations in the hope. Lee maintains a private piano studio, and the students she has taught and coached have won places in various competitions, including The American Protégé International Competition, The New York Artists International Competition, NY International Competition, and NYSSMA Adjudications. The All-State experience begins with a music educator, his or her student and an accompanist spending countless hours preparing a NYSSMA Level VI solo which must be selected from repertoire lists in the current manual. Lee also has worked as a musical director of and pianist at the Touring Concert Opera Company in New York City where she finished a recording project of Stefano Donaudy’s 36 Arie di Stile Antico and played at performances of Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, La fanciulla del West in a concert style, Classical Art Song Series, and the Verdi and Mozart Marathons, in both New York and Florida.Īlso as a devoted educator, Ms. Lee has performed at numerous major concert venues, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Riverside Church, and LeFrak Concert Hall. Lee has appeared in many vocal and chamber music recitals, choir concerts, and performances, including the Chamber Music Series at New York University, Queens College New Music Group, The CSI Orchestra, The Richmond County Orchestra, The Choral Society of the Hamptons, The National Chorale: Choral Festival, The Richmond Choral Society, and Winners Concerts from various competitions. Steven Ryan has been Dessoffs accompanist and featured keyboard soloist. Lee made her debut at the Seoul Arts Center in South Korea with the Sangmyung Orchestra as a winner of the Sangmyung University Honors Competition. Lee received merit-based scholarships from several institutions, including Kyewon High School of the Arts, Sung Eum Foundation, Sangmyung University, and Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music. She also studied Piano and Composition in the graduate diploma program at Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music.
